Concert Information
Playing in concerts is an important part of the music experience. It gives students a sense of accomplishment and excitement to share what they have learned with an audience. Please make coming to the concert a priority. If there is a family emergency, please write me a note or email letting me know the circumstances of the absence. Emergencies will be considered an excused absence.
Plan on arriving 30 to 15 minutes before the start of the concert. For example, if your concert begins at 6:00, plan on arriving at school between 5:30 and 5:45. We use this time to set up instruments and tune.
Students should wear school appropriate attire to concerts. I do not require a specific outfit or color for concerts. But it should follow normal school rules for dress code. Keep in mind that your clothes should be something you are comfortable playing your instrument in. For example, students need to be able to move their arms and hold their instruments on their shoulders (violins & violas) or between their legs (cellos).
